REVIEW by R.L. Stolz
Adirondack Rock: New Rock Climbing Guidebook

The new rock climbing guide is now available! Adirondack Rock by Jim Lawyer and Jeremy Haas was released in April, 2008. We have used hundreds of guidebooks to areas on six continents, in several languages, over the years. Some have led us to fantastic places while others have led us astray. This new guide is one of the most comprehensive, best researched guidebooks we have ever seen! While we have not even come close to climbing every route in this book, we are intimately familiar with rock climbing throughout the Adirondacks and the information in this book is frighteningly reliable. It sets very high standards.
It is a weighty tome of 652 pages filled with great information including many new routes throughout the Adirondack Park. Climbing topos, as well as photographs indicate the routes and are succinctly described pitch by pitch in well-written prose. Maps of cliff areas, directions with GPS coordinates, descent options and a handy summary chart for each cliff means finding the cliff and the route is more likely and with less hassle. Extensively researched climbing history, fun stories from locals, and original artwork by Jim’s wife Lucie Wellner add to the reading pleasure. Enjoy!
We have copies available for sale for $36.99. Contact us to purchase this newest addition to your climbing guidebook library and start to dream about climbing adventures in the Adirondacks! As a result of this huge compendium of information, we expect to visit many new Adirondack destinations ourselves.
